Justification for opening of college of Education
To keep the pace with literacy programme and to provide quality education, we need qualified and trained teachers. Etawahdistrict with a gross population of 10 lakh have seven degree colleges which produce around 2000 graduates every year. Further an estimated additional 2000 students pass out in capacity of private candidates and through correspondence courses. The premier college of this district i.e. Smt. Urmila Devi Mahavidhyalay along with its evening wing is solely producing annually about 1000 graduates and post graduates. There are only three colleges of education in this district i.e. one for girls and two for co-education. Therefore, to obtain their B.A, B.Sc, D.EL.ED degree after graduation, students have to go to far away places for taking admission in the said course. This exercise not only adds to their troubles but tremendously raise the cost of education. Further due to social and security reasons parents of girls students are hesitant to send their wards away from their home town specially residents residing in rural areas.
